Finally got off my ass and started a new diet. My eating is all over theplace lately and I needed a motivating goal to get me fired up enough to do something about it. Using one of Justin Harris’ carb cycling diets. Day one done did well missed one meal due to client emails and just need to prep better at the start of every day to ensure that doesn’t happen again. I’ll post the details soon. No promises on the frquency of the updates but I’ll try to keep them fairly regular to keep me in check. Training is pretty laid back this week. Prob going to switch to a Higher volume approach and try to build as much symmetry and lean muscle mass as possible while dropping fat. Basically i just want to look as strong as I am and ya too be honest get my damn abs back. Been a couple years lol wonder if they are still in there. My other motivation is that I have clients every day struggling to comply with dietary changes and I want to be more empathetic and be able to relate to them. Plus maybe learn a thing or two that will help. Measurements pics and bc tomorrow and them fire that of to a friend in ontario that is going to help me w the changes. Now it’s time for sleep.

Something I wrote to a client. Thought it may benefit others. Sometimes it’s important for trainers to force people to back away just a bit from exercise and force them to take some down time so they have enough energy to focus on the emotions that have led them to become unhealthy. Of course the emotional is harder. But it’s so cool to hear that you are confronting these issues. Once you discover who you are you will fund things other than food and you children that will make u happy. Getting through a tough workout feels good right ? Plus as you start to see how strong you are becoming both physically and emotionally you will have the courage to try new things. It’s already happening but it’s gradual. Be careful to notice how you are changing. Doesn’t it feel good ? Just like the bowel movements brought on by the vegetables that are cleaning out long stored crap in your system so too is the peace and clarity going to lead you to confronting issues that have long been dormant. This will be just as uncomfortable but it’s more important than anything that you get this emotional crap out o your system. Once this happens it leaves the slate clean for a new happier life. War has a cost that one that has neither worn a uniform or loved someone who did will ever fully understand. Unfortunately war is a consequence of the way of life that the first world voting majority demands from it’s elected officials. Don’t talk to me about being hardcore because you train hard. Hardcore is dodging bullets and watching your friends bleed out in front of you. Hardcore is walking a rough beat so kids can have a chance, hardcore is stayin late on your fourth 12 hour shift so that lonely old man won’t die alone. The next time you start thinking your hardcore slap two more 45s on the bar, think about what real dedication is and thank better men and women than you for the freedom you enjoy. Jeff Peck, Steve Keeping, Chris Cotton and countless others. My undying respect. Thank you. Excuse the spelling mistakes sent from my iPhone :) Thom Lamb DTNTL www.deliverfitness.com 506-999-0233
I’m not interested in the display of strength but it’s development. As an athlete advances these two things will occur in concert less often.
